Roberta Knox A.I.S.T.D.

Roberta studied dance at Marianne Jepsons School of Dance. She gained the Associates teaching qualification in tap, ballet, modern & national dance before going on to perform in West End & national theatres. She has performed in 42nd Street, was the  understudy for Cinderella in E & B productions & performed with the Jim Henson Company, to name but a few!

Roberta established the dance school in its original form in 1996. Roberta’s love of dance is evident in her teaching & the examination results. Roberta currently teaches at Redroofs Theatre School.

Amy Mathews

Amy started dancing with Step in Time at the age of 4 years. She studied at Redroofs Theatre School & Jackie Palmer Theatre School. Amy has performed in several national theatres, including Oxford New Theatre, The Theatre Royal Windsor, Saddlers Wells & The Royal Albert Hall and performed in Swan Lake with the English Youth Ballet. She has been a TV extra in Midsomer Murders & Criminal Justice.  Amy  passed the Diploma in Dance Instruction (DDI) in modern and Level 4 Diploma in Dance & Performing Arts (Trinity College) at Linda Virgoe Academy and  passed the BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Performing Arts in 2018. Amy is currently finalising the DDE in Modern dance and is in her final year of dance training at Stella Mann College of Performing Arts, where she is studying a Degree in Performing Arts.

Megan Shea

Megan will be joining  the Step in Time family in January to teach Street dance classes.


Grace Clarke

Grace covers classes when our regular teaches are unable to do so. She is currently studying  Dance & Performing Arts at Urdang Dance Academy.


Tricia Mathews

Tricia has been involved in the school for a very long time and is responsible for the day to day running & organisation of the school. Her background in business, education and being a “stage mum” has given her the tools & insight for running Step in Time.
