Roberta Knox A.I.S.T.D.

Roberta studied dance at Marianne Jepsons School of Dance. She gained the Associates teaching qualification in tap, ballet, modern & national dance before going on to perform in West End & national theatres. She has performed in 42nd Street, was the  understudy for Cinderella in E & B productions & performed with the Jim Henson Company, to name but a few!

Roberta established the dance school in its original form in 1996. Roberta‚Äôs love of dance is evident in her teaching & the examination results. Roberta currently teaches the part- time classes at Redroofs Theatre School.

Amy Mathews

Amy started dancing with Step in Time at the age of 4 years. She studied at Redroofs Theatre School & Jackie Palmer Theatre School. Amy has performed in several national theatres, including Oxford New Theatre, The Theatre Royal Windsor, Saddlers Wells & The Royal Albert Hall and performed in Swan Lake with the English Youth Ballet. She has been a TV extra in Midsomer Murders & Criminal Justice.  Amy  passed the Diploma in Dance Instruction (DDI) in modern and Level 4 Diploma in Dance & Performing Arts (Trinity College) at Linda Virgoe Academy. She has a BA(Hons) in Performing Arts is currently finalising her teaching qualifications (ISTD DDE) in Modern dance and Tap.

Grace Clarke

Grace covers classes when our regular teaches are unable to do so. Grace has performed in many shows and was in the TV commercial for Kingsmill bread, She is a teacher at Redroofs Theatre School and is a film & TV extra. Grace is currently studying the ISTD DDE in Tap (teaching qualification).




Tricia Mathews

Tricia has been involved in the school for a very long time and is responsible for the day to day running & organisation of the school. Her background in business, education and being a “stage mum” has given her the tools & insight for running Step in Time.

Maya Jones – Teacher’s assistant

Maya has been a student at Step in Time for many years and is continuing her dance/performing arts training at The Big Act in Bristol.
